Chukka Caribbean Adventures is the new corporate name for the long established Chukka Cove and Chukka Blue Adventure Tour companies operated by the Melville and Byles families in Jamaica. With Corporate offices based in Montego Bay, the company distinguishes itself as the number one nature adventure tour provider in the region.

The Chukka business was founded in 1983 by Danny Melville offering an original Horseback Ride 'n' Swim tour at Chukka Cove Farm near to the tourist town of Ocho Rios. The popularity of this tour led the company to add another adventure program, the Mountain to Sea Bike Adventure tour in 1998 and the company has sustained an impressive program of expansion from that time. Before long, Danny was joined by his three sons, Marc (Managing Director), Alexander (Finance Director) and Daniel Jnr. (Director) in the growing family business. In 2001 the Melville's partnered with John Byles and opened an operation in Montego Bay under the name Chukka Blue with John as Managing Director.

Today, the company operates twenty–eight (28) tours in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and St. Mary, in Jamaica, Belize City, Belize, Half Moon Cay, in The Bahamas and Grand Turk in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

In December of 2005, the ever–innovative Company again raised the standards in the adventure tours market with the launch of its Jamaica Dogsled Team, the first of its kind to come out of a tropical climate. Plans are already underway for the adventure tour version to be added to Chukka Caribbean's exciting line of products in July of 2006. This will highlight the team's abilities as well as the Jamaican countryside. Yet another example of the Company's proven ability to promote and enhance the Jamaican Brand through fun–packed nature adventure tours.

International recognition of the team includes that of singer Jimmy Buffett, who came on board as the team's primary sponsor and has developed a line of dogsled merchandise available at every Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. The participation of the Jamaica Dogsled Team in prestigious international events has been met with immediate media sensation in the local and international circles. This supportive coverage has led to the production of an inspiring feature length documentary set for release in September of 2006.

Chukka will continue to grow in years to come and at the heart of the expansion process remains an absolute commitment for its management and staff to continue to focus on delivering the quality, in terms of safety and experience that has been the hallmark of the Chukka product for over 20 years.
