This is one way Errol Flynn use to party! Climb aboard a 20_ft bamboo river raft for a 2 ½ to 3 hour cruise down this beautiful slow moving river.

The rafting trip on the Rio Grande is a good choice for a relaxing afternoon excursion. The rafts are made of bamboo and carry two people on a little elevated platform at the rear of the raft. The guide stands at the front and poles you down the river. Ask your captain to navigate your raft through a narrow passage way known as Lovers Rock. Go swimming, eat lunch on the banks of the river, or at "Rafter's Rest" and souvenir shop at the end of the river.

The Rio Grande River is one of Jamaica's largest rivers and has been used to transport bananas from the interior of the island for many years. Rafting for fun was introduced by legendary Hollywood star, Errol Flynn, who made Port Antonio his home.

The journey will take you on a river of adventure – under towering bamboo arches, past fern–shrouded groves, over rippling shoals and through a narrow passageway of moss–covered stone known as Lovers Rock.

The river is clear and clean and you will see herons, egrets, turkey vultures, and schools of fish. Near the launch point, you will experience the "in–stream vendors" – young boys who swim out to the raft, thrust a flower in your hand and then demand a "tip" or an enterprising fellow with a "Red Stripe" raft selling Red Stripe beer, soft drinks and even wine.
