Blue Lagoon (The Blue Hole)

Blue Lagoon (The Blue Hole)

The world famous "bottomless Blue Lagoon" was once the home of Robin Moore, the writer of the French Connection, Green Beret and other stories. Swim in the Lagoon, or sun on a floating raft in the center of the Lagoon. The deep lagoon was once thought to be bottomless but divers have since determined it's depth to be around 180 feet. The site was originally called The Blue Hole. However, following the success of the Brooke Shields film "The Blue Lagoon" which was filmed here, the site was re-named "The Blue Lagoon".

Bonnie View Plantation

Bonnie View Plantation

A perfect blend of nature and culture nestled in the lush verdant hills of the enchanting Blue Mountains, with tropical scenery from a 600 foot high view that unfolds to Jamaica's most spectacular panorama of Historic Port Antonio, Navy Island and the Twin Harbors.

Errol Flynn Marina

Errol Flynn Marina

Port Antonio, located on the North East corner of the Caribbean Island of Jamaica, was made famous by Errol Flynn. He bought this private island, built his beautiful island hut and invited guests from his boat or seaplane parked in the harbor. He lost the island in one night of gambling. While much has been made of Flynn's wicked, wicked ways, his passion for the sea was just as great. In fact, he often took the helm of his yacht Zaca, a 118-foot schooner, on transoceanic voyages.

Folly Point Lighthouse

Folly Point Lighthouse

Folly Point Lighthouse - Tip of Folly Peninsula, 5 minute drive east of Port Antonio. The Folly Point Lighthouse was built in 1888. The Tower is constructed of masonry and is fire proof. It flashes a white light of 2 seconds duration followed by 8 seconds of darkness. The light is visible for a distance of thirteen miles. The lighthouse marks the entrance to the East and West Harbour of Port Antonio.

Frenchmans Cove Beach

Frenchmans Cove Beach

This small cove, just east of the hamlet of Draper's, located east of Port Antonio, boasts one of the prettiest white sand beaches for miles. A stream winds lazily to the white sand beach that shelves steeply into the water. Guests enjoy the best of both worlds, fresh and sea water. There is a snack bar, changing rooms, showers, picnic areas and a secure parking lot.

Rafting on the Rio Grande

Rafting on the Rio Grande

The rafting trip on the Rio Grande is a good choice for a relaxing afternoon excursion. The rafts are made of bamboo and carry two people on a little elevated platform at the rear of the raft. The guide stands at the front and poles you down the river. Ask your captain to navigate your raft through a narrow passage way known as Lovers Rock. The Rio Grande River is one of Jamaica's largest rivers and has been used to transport bananas from the interior of the island for many years. Rafting for fun was introduced by legendary Hollywood star, Errol Flynn, who made Port Antonio his home.

Titchfield Hill (Titchfield Peninsula)

Titchfield Hill (Titchfield Peninsula)

One of the most unique features of Port Antonio is its double harbour. The Titchfield Peninsula separates the East Harbour from the West Harbour and together with Navy Island. The Titchfield Peninsula was the first place to be settled by the English, and is known as the oldest settlement of the The Barracktown. The buildings in the Titchfield Peninsula possess excellent examples of the architectural styles representing different periods in the formation and development of the town. They reflect Jamaican Georgian, Victorian New England, Cape Cod Victorian, Jamaican Vernacular and Victorian styles gingerbread. The predominant style is vernacular Architecture.
