Moon River (New Kingston)
Moon River now playing at Centerstage Theatre in New Kingston is a mixture of comedy and drama. Moon River is written by Adrian Nelson, produced by Oliver Samuels and Nelson.
Moon River cast: Cunningham, Goshop, Sheldon Shepherd, Kedecia Stewart, Keniesha Bowes and Pinciana Ennis.
Moon River tells the story of "Grease" (Goshop), who has become a gangster and have to deal with the reality of a gang leader. He also faces with family problem brought on by his teenage stepdaughter (Bowes) and relatives. Grease is force to take a look at his life as a gangster and make some life changing decisions.
Moon River Plays:

Once a year, Falmouth gets very excited about one of Jamaica's favourite fish. If you aren't taking part in reeling in the marlin, it's great fun to watch other people doing it.
In September, when there is little activity on the Jamaican calendar of events, this competition is a big deal locally, attracting many world-class fishermen. Falmouth's historic seaside strip comes to life as participants bring back their daily catch it's well worth a visit to lap up all the excitement. and you could even test your wits against the pros.
Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament (Deep Sea Fishing Tournament)

The 45th Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament and 24th Port Antonio Local Canoe Tournament will be held in Portland from October 4-11, 2008. This is the oldest Marlin tournament in the Caribbean, which attracts anglers from all over the world.
The winner of the competition is the one who catches the biggest Marlin a fish that migrates through the Caribbean during September and October according to the moon's phases. The Blue Marlin is both agile and speedy and can grow up to about 16 feet (4.5 metres).
The Atlantic Blue Marlin is an endangered species of fish and its preservation is highly significant to the continued development of the Caribbean's waters.
Local fishermen and boats from surrounding regions come to Port Antonio to help in the conservation effort and this takes the form of the International Marlin Tournament.
Marlin are caught, tagged and released back into the sea in keeping with the International Game Fishing Association's (IGFA) tag and release regulations.
The waters off of northern Jamaica are famous in deep sea fishing circles. Anglers can try to land mahi-mahi, wahoo, blue and white marlin, sailfish, tarpon, barracuda, and bonito. Each year the Jamaica International Fishing Tournament and the Jamaica International Blue Marlin Tournament run concurrently in September and October, bringing anglers from around the world to fish the teeming waters. If you want to view the excellent scenery alive under the water, Dragon Bay is great for scuba diving and snorkeling excursions. Diving enthusiasts will want to rent a dive boat to take them to Monkey Island near San San Bay. The reef is full of marine life, including hundreds of tropical fish and many sponges and plants.
Parties at the event are sponsored by Jamaica's major corporations, such as Appleton Rum and Red Stripe beer.
The Reggae Marathon & Half-Marathon (Negril)

It's early morning and the tropical moon barely hangs over the ocean that washes Negril's seven-mile strip of beach - celebrated as one of the worlds finest. The chirping crickets are joined in chorus by chanting Rastafarian drummers who set the stage for the Reggae runners - who are now electrified by the intensity of the beat.
Yeah man! On cue from the starter, torchbearers raise their flaming bamboo torches in a ritual that has become the signature of the start to the Reggae Marathon. As the horn blows, the runners are off and jammin'!
As daylight emerges, Reggae runners enjoy a scenic course that meanders along Negril's coastline passing verdant pastures and foliage. A nature lover's dream. Gentle breezes waft through the air along with pulsating strains of Reggae Music as runners and walkers pass through the sleepy villages that wake to cheer them on.
