Rio Bueno Village and Rio Bueno River
Rio Bueno village is located between the parish of Trelawny and St Ann. Montego Bay is around 56 km to the west and Ocho Rios is 44 km to the east of Rio Bueno, along the A1 motorway and the north coast. Rio Bueno is a small village which is well know for being the deepest deep harbour port in in Jamaica. It's claim to fame is as where Columbus landed on his first visit to Jamaica.
Rio Bueno has now become one of the popular tourist attraction in Jamaica and the river has play a great part in it's popularity. The river was so named by Christopher Columbus when he landed there on his first voyage to Jamaica. Columbus was said to have used the river to restock his water supply and must be a welcoming sight for the weary sea goer's.
These days Rio Bueno is more known for the main bauxite shipping port in Jamaica and the Rio Bueno River adventures. Rio Bueno white river adventure now attracts tourists from all the major holiday resorts in Jamaica including Ocho Rios, Falmouth, Montego Bay, Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay daily.

You will be taken on a short walk through the lush rain forest to your starting point on the river. Before you start out on your adventure you will be taken through the safety briefing and a short demonstration of how to navigate the rapids and the Rio Bueno River. Take a lazy trip down the river with one of the experience guides who will take you safely through the rapids and meandering streams of the Rio Bueno River. You can also experience the the various rapid on tube or kayak, where you will be expertly guided down the river to the beach.

You will be able to just sit back and take in the scenery of the beautiful tropical rain forest and lush fauna as you gently glide by on the more relaxing part of the river. You can also stop for a swim, swing on the Tarzan rope out over the river or just jump in at selected points along the river.
