Harmony Hall - Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Harmony Hall combines Caribbean art and craft with restaurants and accommodation in special settings in Jamaica.
The original Harmony Hall, a mid1800's Methodist manse 4 and a half miles east of Ocho Rios, has been showcasing the finest Jamaican art & craft since 1981. Harmony Hall was founded by Annabella Proudlock, her husband Peter and artist Graham Davis.
The Great House, Harmony Hall was originally built in 1886. After a period of neglect, Harmony Hall was renovated and reopened in 1981 as an arts and crafts gallery. Around 100 artists and craftsmen display their work in the upper floor of the great house. Exhibited works are available to buy from the gallery and prints (and other sundry items) are available in the gift shop. The gound floor of Harmony Hall is home to Toscanini, a fine Italian restaurant featuring traditional Italian dishes augmented with Jamaican ingredients and a wide selection of wines from around the world.
At Harmony Hall promoting excellence is a major priority, whether in art, craft, cuisine, service or accommodation. Regular exhibitions in both locations open on selected Sundays from November to April, offering a rare opportunity to meet local artists and collectors.
