H'Evans Scent an Experience not to be Missed!
H'Evans Scent is located just south of Priory in a small village nestled amongst the hills of Free Hill, in the garden parish of parish St Ann, Jamaica. Travel along a winding country road up into the hills with lust tropical vegetation on either side. The drive take you through some small villages which will give you a glimpse into the life of the local Jamaican's. Arrive at the H'Evans Scent on the very crest of the hill with views across the hills, local farms and in the distant to the sea.
H'Evans Scent is one of the best run ecotourism adventure, family friendly, pack with high adrenaline action, excitement and the best group experience in Jamaica. This was one of the first adventure tourism activity developed in Jamaica by Derek Evans better known as Mr Motivator, a fitness celebrity on morning television in UK and motivational speaker. This is a family run business and you can find Derek there most days taking charge and making sure you have the best experience possible.
We were met by Derek (Mr Motivator) at the gate who greet us warmly and took us through to the main building which include the reception, zipline instruction area, restaurant and bar. Once the meet and greet is over we were taken through the safety training on riding the ziplines. In the background we could hear other zipline riders screaming before we could see them, which increased the anxiety levels. We were given our safety equipment and secure on with the help of the zipline guides. The guides were fantastic throughout the entire day.
Zipline Adventure - The Easy Zipline Rides
We then head over to the the first ride which is a high tower which you have to climb to the top. Once you are at the top (and trying not to look down or show your fear), you climb onto the zipline platform with the help of the guide. Then off on the first ride, which was scary at first, but exhilarating once underway. Zip along over the canopy of the trees to the platform on the other side. What a rush!
After about 10 minutes I was on the second zipline heading back to the starting point. The ride start with a run to the edge of the platform that disappeared under you, leaving you suspended in mid-air zooming across to the other side (no screaming as yet).
The Screamer - You will Scream!
As the title suggest this will make you scream for sure. We help into the three seater ride by our guides, which was suspended for what seem like miles above us. We were slowly winch up so high and at a extreme angle, then released. The scream started even before we were released and could be heard all around the area. Once it was over we wanted to go again, best fun ever.
Lunch Jamaican Style
Once our legs stop trembling and we were able to stand. We sat down to a sumptuous Jamaican lunch served in gourds to give you authentic Jamaican experience - while listening to some live music. We sat in one of the many seating areas around the well kept grounds, some of the seating areas can accommodate large private parties.
High Wire Zipline - Pure Adrenaline Fun!
The high wire zipline require you to climb a tall pole (not for those afraid of heights) with the aid of your guides and then zip across the valley in the distant and back on a second wire. These two lines are definitely for those who want a bit more adrenaline action. The ride is long and give you enough time to take in the scenery as you zoom by.
Paintball Experience
Once you get dressed with all your protective gear with the help of your guide. You can will head out into one of the combat zones, where your team will be split in two groups and ready for battle. You are given 200 - 350 Paintball (more can be purchase) for your capture the flag which last about four rounds, by which you will either be victorious or sore from loosing (other game types available).
