The world famous "bottomless Blue Lagoon" was once the home of Robin Moore, the writer of the French Connection, Green Beret and other stories. Swim in the Lagoon, or sun on a floating raft in the center of the Lagoon. The deep lagoon was once thought to be bottomless but divers have since determined it's depth to be around 180 feet.

The Blue Hole (Blue Lagoon), the location for several films, is worth the trip to Port Antonio. Seven miles from Port Antonio–follow the signs to Blue Hole or Blue Lagoon–you'll stumble across a perfect circle of startlingly intense and deep (180 feet), dark turquoise water. The site was originally called The Blue Hole. However, following the success of the Brooke Shields film "The Blue Lagoon" which was filmed here, the site was re–named "The Blue Lagoon".

Along the shoreline is a casual restaurant, a decent place to have a meal or a drink and simply enjoy this remarkable site. The restaurant serves seafood, spicy chicken, lamb, and has exotic tropical drinks too. Water skiing, scuba diving and glass bottom boat rides are offered here. Be sure to bring your camera.

The most striking feature about the Blue Lagoon is its mystical blue colour which changes throughout the day, depending on the angle of the sun. A day spent by the Blue Lagoon can see the hue change from turquoise to sapphire to deep blue. When you go swimming in the blue lagoon, you'll be massaged by streams of warm water from the Caribbean Sea and refreshing jets of icy fresh water from the underground streams which feed the lagoon.
