Riu Negril features 420 deluxe guestrooms, nestling on a beautiful stretch of white sandy beach just minutes away from the heart of Negril. The resort offers a complete program of daytime activities and nightly entertainment that is perfect for the entire family.

Accommodation

Rooms vary only by exposure garden, beach or sea and all have king or paired double beds, air–conditioning, ceiling fans, TVs, mini-bars, safes and decent–sized tile baths with hair dryers. Attractive two–poster mahogany beds match the elegant wooden framed art, wall trim and appealing armchairs. Balconies extend the living space with furnished patios to take in the manicured garden or sea vistas. Disappointments are few, yet noticeable, such as the cheap single–use toiletries in small packets and the thin bedspreads and linens. Of course, fully stocked mini bars with four kinds of liquor and bottled water are standard in all accommodations.

Dining

Varied dining options include all–day (and all–night) pizza and salads at Luigi's, fine buffet spreads and steak a la carte at open–air Shadows, and fine dining at Riu's standard Sir Andrew's. All require reservations and maintain dress codes. Along with the obligatory pool side snack bar, Green Island completes the dining options, with the typical resort buffets at breakfast and dinner in a clubby environment of wood trim, elaborate chandeliers and flowing drapery.

Entertainment

Nightly entertainment includes live music, floor shows and children's parties in a Roman Coliseum–inspired venue, and the disco opens up afterward six nights a week. An uninspiring casino keeps its doors open but has few takers. Locals display their wares during the evening in a bazaar setting designed for tourist shopping.
