Datura Villa, Montego Bay Villas, Jamaica

The villa contains five bedrooms, divided into two wings with two bedrooms on one side and three on the other. All rooms have ceiling fans and private baths except one that has its bath across the hall. Please view the Floor Plan. Rooms are cleaned daily and all linen and beach towels are provided. Complementary personal laundry is done midweek.

The Datura Villa is located 6 miles from the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay and 5 miles to the city center of Montego Bay.

Within the villa, there is also an ice maker, a beverage refrigerator, blender for bar drinks, a CD player, a TV with cable reception, a VCR and DVD, and high speed, internet access.

Meals

Arrangements are made so that when you arrive, dinner and breakfast will be pre–purchased. Shopping by the cook will take place the day after arrival. Menus are available to aid you in planning your meals. The cook will review with you a variety of menu options and allow you to mix and match, as you like and dependent on market and seasonal conditions. Our cook is also very accommodating to all diets and vegetarian requests.

Internet Access

The villa offers DSL, high speed internet access as well as wireless access. If you bring your computer, you must have a wireless card or an Ethernet port.

The Staff

Included in the rental price is a full staff consisting of a property manager to assist as Concierge, as well as an excellent cook, chambermaid(s), laundress, and gardener/pool man/caretaker.

Transportation

Our property manager is also a state licensed, tour operator who owns a 12 passenger, mini–van. He is available to provide all ground and touring transportation at costs below car rental rates. This makes for truly carefree travel. The villa does not mark–up for his services. He may be hired on a per trip basis or he may be contracted to provide services for the week.

Your accommodations can be as inclusive as an "all–inclusive" or as casual as a luxury hotel or resort. The only difference is that your visit will always feel personal and intimate with none of the institutional trappings.

The villa, originally built in 1930 by the editor of The New Yorker magazine, has the amenities of a fine hotel and yet offers affordable luxury, privacy, and close proximity to all tourist activities, nightlife, and the airport.

The villa has over 5,000 square feet of living space, consisting of five (5) large bedrooms with private baths, a high–ceiling, grand living room with mahogany floors, a library, bar, TV room, antiques, a screened–in dining room overlooking the aquamarine waters below, a pool house with washroom, tennis court, and a modern commercial kitchen with pantry, ice maker, two refrigerators, and blender.

The large terrace, which is ideal for day– dreaming and viewing stars at night, overlooks the large swimming pool and hot tub. Also on the grounds are a tennis court, tropical gardens, bird–watching and fruit trees of mango, orange, banana, coconut, lemon, allspice, ackee, nesberry, papaya, and breadfruit.

Within short distances, there are several beautiful beaches, five excellent golf courses, SCUBA, Para–sailing, plantation tours, bird watching, river rafting, horseback riding, waterfalls, spa treatments, shopping, dining/dancing, nightclubs and a casino.

This is the perfect spot for families, honeymoons, weddings, and groups of friends to relax and play.

Fitness Center

This large, airy room with a fourteen foot cathedral ceiling and professional exercise equipment adds a quiet place to work–out, stretch out, and practice yoga. In the evening, the room darkens into your own private screening room with a large, eight foot screen, a state–of–the–art, LCD projector and embracing surround sound.
