Location

Forres Park Guest is a small and friendly nature retreat set high in the heart of the Blue Mountains. It stands on a steep hillside surrounded by fantastic mountain gardens, amid an amazing array of flowering bushes and fruit trees.

Forres Park Guest House provides the ideal base for exploring the Blue Mountains, being situated within an hour's drive of Kingston's international airport and yet at an elevation of 2,500 feet blessed by the mountain ambience of cool starry nights, bright sunny days and awe inspiring dawn views of the Peak itself.

Accommodation

The bedrooms are set in four two–bedroom cottages and a near Alpine main house (with six twins and doubles, quite simple), with an activity room, bar and balcony and spectacular views to the surrounding villages and beyond, including to the Blue Mountain Peak.

Forres Park offers several choices in accommodation. Rooms feature private baths, and balconies with mountain views and are comfortably furnished. In addition Each floor of the plantation house, & most cottages have spacious verandah which allow communion with mother nature. Cabins are available; each can be sub–divided,and offer single, king size and bunk beds.

Dinner Entrees - Chicken – Curried, Stewed, Bar–be–que, Baked, Pineapple, Fish (fillet/whole) – Fried, Eschovitched, Brown Stewed, Steam, Goat – Curried, Pork Chops – Baked, Pan–Fried, Lamb – Pan–Fried All meals served with Steamed Vegetables, Rice and Peas, Seasoned Rice or Steamed White Rice, Sliced/Tossed Vegetables.

Health and Recreation

The upper verandah offers such an array of birds at daybreak that it is sometimes difficult to depart for the nearby trails – all three hummingbird species can be seen – Vervain, Jamaica Mango and Streamertail – along with Orangequits, White–chinned Thrushes, Kingbirds, Flycatchers and numerous North American warblers in their winter quarters.

Hiking - The trails around the house climb up through coffee groves into natural forest. Some easy others less so, offering subtle changes in habitat reflected by changing bird species. Stripe–headed Tanagers and Jamaican Orioles frequent the shade–trees, and further up the hillside Ring–tailed pigeons appear.

The network of trails around Forres Park can be used by hikers, some by bikers and some by four–wheel drive vehicles, offering a wide variety of mountain scenery, wildflowers, butterflies and birds.

SPA - Surrounded by the famous Blue Mountain Peak, nestled in the valley of Mavis Bank, Forres Park is home to one of Jamaica's most earthy spa experiences.
